It’s been several weeks since I went into personal lockdown. Finally I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully home soon. Probably tomorrow am.
The COVID Theatres
The team has done an amazing job setting this up for our new world.
Four days off
Its been a nice run of days off. Ready to go back to the grindstone tomorrow.
The Australian figures at least are looking like we are in control of all of this. But that only means that we are going to be isolated for longer, although at a more manageable pace.
Another day in the life of COVID-19
Now officially the busiest COVID hospital in Perth.
Covid clinic
Joondalup style
it’s an amazingly quiet morning. You should never say that of course as there is always a price to pay when you use the q word
Friday night – Virtually
The joys of teleconferencing with the mates. Sort of not socially isolating, whilst isolating.
Life for the next month
A different form of self isolation.
Another life
I’m suddenly living another life. I know I’m not the only person in the world to do this, but it’s strange how quickly things change.
The world is falling apart, and some bits are still in denial. I find it strange how anyone could ignore this or not see it coming.
Anyway, its here now, and time will tell how bad it will become.
First contact
It all started today. The first COVID cases started hitting us. So I’m going into exile from home, so I don’t infect anyone there.
Hopefully I don’t get it either, because that is a risk.
I’m trying to be the person the hospital needs. I think I can do that. I hope I can do that for the months ahead that this is likely to run for.
And I thought I should write this here today so that one day I can look back on it all.
So much happened today. We reconfigured the hospitals on call, started a COVID clinic, and opened our first COVID ward.
I just hope it’s all enough.
Reconfiguring a hospital
There is so much to do. People to redeploy. Anxiety to quell. But at this stage I think we are getting as prepared as possible for what is coming.
