The wettest day so far. A good day for a rest day as it turns out. An opportunity to visit Margaret River and Witchcliff by car instead of bicycle.

The eco village in Witchcliff was interesting. Lots of new houses, all with water tanks. Lots of solar power.

There is an EV charger (three apparently) in the eco village, and one of the charge ports was actually useable, as long as you didn’t need to pay with paypass as that was out of service.

It’s a nice enough town.

These days are not easy. Despite the distance, it’s been a difficult off road experience today. Some really wet bits because of all the rain.

We learnt that the hard way when we took the summer route to the 10 mile brook dam. As in, it’s ok in summer. Winter, not so much. And this spring it was still pretty wet.

But a nice ride overall.

And butter chicken for dinner which felt well earned.

I haven’t posted in a long while – mostly because I didn’t think there was anything much to say.

But now taking a week out for an off road holiday – its good to take the time out. Drove down here yesterday – no hassles there.

We are staying at a pretty nice Airbnb place – 4 bedroom/4 bathroom on a large lot (1.5 hectares). So nothing to complain about there

First ride was today – its been a while since doing anything off road. So this was a nice little rail trail.

I’m definitely feeling it in my legs tonight – ready to crash.
